If any deficiencies are noted, actions to correct these deficiencies
must be taken immediately
2.2.7 Hazardous Waste Transportation and Disposal Procedures
No other transporter other than those selected by Boretech's facility manager will be
used. The acceptable contractors identified must be approved by Boretech prior to
utilizing them.
2.2.7.2 Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests
A hazardous waste manifest must be prepared to accompany each shipment, unless
the shipment is part of a milkrun operation (see Section 1.2.7.3). The form requires the
following information:
• The identity and amount of waste that is being transported
• The name and address of the facility where the waste is generated
• The name of the transporter
• Destination of the waste
Once the waste arrives at its destination, an acknowledgment copy of the manifest is
returned to the generator.
The manifest is a multi -colored copy document, portion of which must be filled out by
the generator, transporter and disposal facility. Follow the instructions on the various
copies for completing the waste manifest forms.
If wastes are being sent to a facility outside the State, then the following must be
conducted:
• If wastes are sent to a state that has its own manifests, that state's manifest must
be used.
• If the waste is sent to a state that does not have its own manifests then the
California manifest must be used.
2.2.7.3 Limited Exceptions to Manifest Requirements
Manifest Requirements for "Milkrun" Operations:
A "milkrun" operation is conducted by a transporter who picks up similar waste streams
from multiple generators, such as a used oil tank truck that may be filled from several
locations.
Generators of less than 220 lbs (approximately 27 gallons) of hazardous waste
(including used oil) per month are exempted from hazardous waste manifesting
requirements when offering the following waste streams to a transporter operating in
accordance with the milkrun requirements:
• spent photographic solutions
Boretech Hazardous Materials & Hazardous Waste Management Operations Plan Page 115
