Pacific Coast MS Indus s Management Proce es <br />C9.5 Used Fluorescent Lamp Handling Procedure <br />Aim <br />To insure that scrap fluorescent lamps are properly handled <br />Responsibility <br />All team members that are involved with the handling of used fluorescent lamps are <br />responsible for following this operational process control <br />The Management Representative is responsible for notifications and documentation <br />related to the transportation and disposal of all hazardous waste <br />Method <br />Read and understand the operational process control <br />Follow the directions provided in the process control <br />Report to supervisor if unable to comply with the directions of the process control for any <br />reason. <br />Records <br />Uniform Hazardous waste manifests <br />References <br />None Applicable <br />Operational Procedure for: Used Fluorescent Lamps <br />• Waste Fluorescent Lamps generated through the processes of P.C.I are to be <br />handled and disposed of properly. <br />• Used Lamps are to be accumulated in their original containers and labeled as used <br />lamps Universal Waste with the accumulation start date. <br />• Lamps are to be placed into the original box in tact they are not to be broken <br />• Used Lamps are to be removed from P.C.I. by a designated Universal Waste <br />Transporter and all necessary documentation is to be completed by the <br />Management Representative <br />• Records are to be maintained as required by government regulations for all <br />hazardous waste shipments <br />• Boxes containing used fluorescent lamps are held in a designated area of the <br />Electrical Room plant 2 while awaiting disposal. <br />• The Management Representative is to be notified when a container is filled with <br />used lamps in order to schedule pickup. <br />• The full containers are to be sealed with tape to insure integrity during <br />transportation <br />Issue: 2 October 10, 2008 Authorized By: Jasper Bullock Pagel. l <br />
