Mr. Ray Von blue—San Joaquin County Environmental Health Departmcnt Page Z
Site Specific TTU Notification—Attachment B 4/30108
RECON will construct a manifold for connecting the drain outlets from the two de-watering bins to a single
discharge point. As a precautionary measure, each de-watering bin will have the ability to be isolated
separately through appropriate valves and the piping will be able to be disconnected using camlock fittings.
A double diaphragm pump will be connected in line with the discharge points of the de-watering bins. If
necessary, rinse water may be directed to another 4,900 gallon double-contained poly tank system (see
attached TTU System Diagram) for pH adjustment before final discharge to a nearby wash rack sump
leading to a Class I1 surface impoundment located at the Southeast side of the Client's property.
After each batch treatment of pea gravel, a bin truck will be used to pick up the de-watering bins and
transport the clean pea gravel to a stockpile location designated by the Client. This process will be repeated
until all of the pea gravel has been treated.
Please accept this letter as formal notification of TTU operations to be conducted by DECON at our
Client's site located at 16777 Howland Road, Lathrop, California. Please do not hesitate to contact me
should you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Jason M.Costello
Corporate EH&S/Regulatory Compliance Manager
DECON Environmental Services, Inc.
510-732-6444 Ext.20
510-750-2099 Mobile
510-782-8584 Fax
E-mail icostello(adeconenv.com
