This facility does not have a valid EPA ID number to manage hazardous waste. A hazardous waste generator shall not treat, store, dispose of, transport or offer for transportation, hazardous waste without an EPA ID number. Immediately obtain an EPA ID number to manage hazardous waste and submit evidence to the EHD by 6-3-12. 108. A tan unlabeled rusted 55 gallon drum with rust holes on top is full, has been left outside south of the shop, has unknown contents, and the facility personel have not determined its hazardous properties. Sand blasting of metal is performed outside next to the sand blasting shed and the used sand blasting media is left to accumulate outside on the ground without first determining its hazardous properties. Approximately thirteen five gallon buckets of various paint waste have been left outside north of the sandblasting shed without first determining its hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop leaving used sand blast media outside on the ground, make a hazardous waste determination for the used sand blast media, unknown waste in the rusted tan 55 gallon drum, and the five gallon buckets of various paint waste, and manage it according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed by 6-30-12. 301. Three dark oil stains were found on the dirt path east of the shop. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment.
