Acampo, Program: HW <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> CLASS I,CLASS 11,or MINOR-Notice to Com <br /> #8 A generator shall not treat, store, dispose of, transport or offer for transportation, HW without having <br /> received an Identification Number. Correct immediately by contacting Department of Toxic Substances <br /> Control(DTSC) and obtain an active EPA ID# for this business. DTSC information provided. <br /> #11 Used oil has been spilled at the entrance of the the used oil storage shed and unto the ground <br /> outside at the entrance of the used oil storage shed. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to <br /> minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of <br /> hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten <br /> human health or the environment. Correct immediately by maintaining the used oil storage area to <br /> minimize the release of used oil to the environment. Clean up any spilled oil, oil contaminated soil/ <br /> absorbent, and any other spilled HW, and manage properly per CCR Title 22 HW regulations. <br /> #20 Four 55 gallon drums and a 30 gallon drum of used oil were not labeled. Containers of HW must be <br /> labeled with the following: (1)hazardous waste (2)generator name and address (3)contents (4)physical <br /> state (5)hazardous properties (6)accumulation start date. Correct immediately by following the example <br /> provided to properly and completely label the HW drums used oil and any other HW containers that you <br /> may have. Note: during the inspection Dan Mills completed and affixed the provided HW labels to two of <br /> the 55 gallon HW drums of used oil. <br /> #25 A HW poly drum of used oil had a crack in the top of the drum. If a container holding HW is not in <br /> good condition, the owner or operator shall transfer the HW from this container to a container that is in <br /> good condition. Correct immediately by removing the used oil from the cracked HW poly drum and <br /> transfer it to one of the other HW drums for used oil that is still in good condition. Verify that all your HW <br /> containers are in good condition and transfer the HW to a good container if the existing container is bad. <br /> #27 Three 55 gallon HW drums of used oil and one 30 gallon HW drum of used oil were left open. A <br /> container holding HW shall always be closed during transfer and storage, except when it is necessary to <br /> add or remove waste. Correct immediately by maintaining your HW drums of used oil closed except <br /> when adding or removing waste. Note: during the inspection Dan Mills had one of his employees use a <br /> plug to close one of the 55 gallon HW drums of used oil. Maintain this practice with all HW containers. <br /> #30 Approximately ten 55 gallon drums that used to contain HW or hazardous material(HM) (e.g.. oil) <br /> have not been labeled with the empty start date. A container larger than 5 gallons that used to contain a <br /> HW or HM shall be marked with the date it has been emptied and shall be managed within one year of <br /> being emptied.
