To sample each well, a pre -cleaned teflon bailer was attached to new braided nylon line and
lowered into the well, filled, and brought to the surface The water in the bailer was carefully
poured into laboratory prepared glass and plastic bottles which were capped with Teflon -lined
caps Sample bottles were labeled with stick -on labels filled out in indelible ink, with the
following information
Site name
Date collected
Time collected
Sample ID
Sampler's initials
Analysis required
Any other pertinent information
Quality control/quality assurance procedures consisted of the collection of a blind duplicate and
an equipment decontamination rinsate sample The duplicate was collected concurrently with
sample MW -2 and was given the fictitious well/sample name MW -10 The decontamination
sample (labeled MW -11) was collected from a bailer which had been cleaned by the normal
decontamination procedure after sampling MW -2 Detonized water was poured into the
decontaminated bailer and then the water was poured from the bailer into the sample bottles
This sample serves as a check on the decontamination procedures for the bailer, ensuring that
it has been effectively cleaned
The teflon bailer used to purge the wells and collect the water samples was thoroughly
decontaminated prior to each use to prevent cross -contamination of samples Decontamination
of the bailer consisted of a dual wash with an alconox/potable water solution followed by a
' potable water rinse, and a final rinse with deionized water The thin nylon line used to lower
the bailer was removed and discarded atter each use
All purge water from the wells and decontainination rinsate was containerized onsite pending
disposal through the Stockton Municipal Utilities Department
Samples were sealed in a resealable plastic bag and placed with ice in an insulated chest for
delivery with a Chain -of -Custody document to the WESTON Analytics' laboratory in Stockton,
California The laboratory is certified by the State of California to perform the required
analyses The samples were scheduled for analysis of parameters as shown on Table A-4
STh1RP'TSIAREC4QTR WP A - 3 01!24194
