Beginning January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all new(or any changes to existing) <br /> hazardous waste information online to the CERS at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include your hazardous <br /> waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant activities and required <br /> fields. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 202 HSC 25189.5(a) Disposed or caused disposal of HW at an unauthorized point. <br /> A partially full aerosol can of Zep lubricant and a partially full aerosol can of Zep Brake Flush were observed in the <br /> trash cans in the shop. A partially full aerosol can of Zep Brake Flush with a broken nozzle was observed on the <br /> ground outside the shop. According to Mr. Shayne Norman, the trash cans in the shop are for waste that belongs in <br /> the dumpster. Hazardous wastes shall be disposed of only by transportation to a permitted hazardous waste <br /> treatment, storage, and disposal facility (TSDF). Immediately cease disposal of hazardous waste to the ground and <br /> the trash, and ensure that all future waste is hauled by a licensed hazardous waste transporter to a permitted TSDF. <br /> This is a Class I violation. <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> A winch was observed stored in the yard east of the shop with oil leaking onto the ground. A nearby oil stain was <br /> identified by Mr. Norman as the previous location of the leaking winch. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to <br /> minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could <br /> threaten human health or the environment. Immediately stop all leaks to the ground, clean any stained soil, and <br /> manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation <br /> explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 303 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems, spill control, or decontamination <br /> equipment. <br /> Oily liquid was observed in the secondary containment under the used oil drums. All facility communications or alarm <br /> systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be <br /> tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Secondary containment <br /> shall be maintained clean and dry at all times.
