The letter was in response to a 17 January 1997 conversation between
Mr. Quinlan, Mr. Derek Peterson, and myself regarding submittal of the work plan. I agreed
to extend the deadline until the end of February. Therefore, the work plan to determine the
source and extent of TICE in ground water south of KI-12, along with the ground water model
report, is now due by 28 February 1997.
We also discussed the results of the 6 January 1997 meeting between Department of Toxic
Substances Control and Board staff regarding the agencies' differing positions on monitoring
for 1,4-dioxane. For you information, I have enclosed a memorandum from our Assistant
Executive Officer summarizing that meeting.
If you have any questions, you may call me at(916)255-3048.
41-POILY OWRY
Associate Engineering Geologist
PAL:paUlsb
Enclosure
cc: Mr. Doug ONeal,Department of Toxic Substances Control, Sacramento
W.
