Place a label on the drum with the following words: <br /> "Unknown Waste—Analysis Pending", put a date on the label and place in <br /> the hazardous waste storage area outside. <br /> The EH&S Manager or designee will arrange to have the drums contents <br /> analyzed. Until the drum contents are identified,the drum will be managed <br /> under the hazardous waste rules. <br /> SATELLITE STORAGE Each satellite storage area may contain up to 55 total gallons of hazardous <br /> AREAS waste for waste accumulation. When 55 gallons is reached the excess must <br /> be taken to the appropriate area in the hazardous waste storage area within <br /> three days. The date the drum is taken to the hazardous waste storage area <br /> and shall be marked on the label. The drum shall be stored as indicated <br /> above for that type of waste. <br /> Satellite storage drums shall be kept closed and secured at all times except <br /> when adding waste. <br /> Satellite storage drums must be appropriately labeled with the drums <br /> contents as described above for that type of waste. <br /> It is the responsibility of the Area Managers or designee{s}to ensure that <br /> these satellite storage areas are in compliance with the requirements cited in <br /> this instruction. <br /> If a new satellite storage area is needed,the EH&S Manager must approve <br /> it in order to note it for inspections and to ensure that the conditions are <br /> compliant for satellite storage. <br />
