® Document Number: 909 R 5003 PILKINGTON Procedure Rev: 5 Date: 5/24/07 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES EVACUATION PROCEDURES Once the order is given to evacuate an area of the facility or the entire facility, proper procedures must be undertaken to facilitate a safe and orderly evacuation. Due to the size of the facility and types of emergencies, partial and plant wide facility evacuation procedures have been established and are presented below. Plant Wide Evacuation In those cases where the entire facility must be immediately evacuated, the following procedures will be used: • The security officer will use the facility's communication system (radios, public address system, and telephones) to notify employees of the need to evacuate. The security officer may indicate if the secondary assembly areas must be used and will make necessary requests for emergency response personnel. • Supervisors and lead personnel will make sure that the evacuation alarms are activated, and will be responsible for overseeing the orderly movement of employees and/or contractors to designated assembly areas and the emergency shut down of equipment. • Supervisors will be responsible for taking head counts to determine that all employees and/or contractors are accounted for and will relay that information to the human resource department or security officer (during off hours). • Maintenance members will secure necessary utilities and assist emergency response personnel if needed. • The facility will implement an incident command system and cooperate with emergency response personnel. Partial Evacuation In those emergencies where only a portion of the facility needs to evacuated, the following procedures will be followed: 909R5003 Rev. 5/20/04
