In certain cases, additional guidelines specific to a <br /> hazardous material have been developed and follow this section. A hazardous <br /> incident may either be an actual release and/or a threatened release. <br /> An actual hazardous incident may include the release of a gas such as chlorine, <br /> spills of petroleum products from equipment malfunctions, drums and/or bulk <br /> storage containers, and spills of other hazardous chemicals (solvents, acids). <br /> When a container's integrity is in jeopardy the potential exists that a release of the <br /> chemical might occur, this is referred to as a threatened release incident.
