R <br /> •Threatened Release - <br /> E <br /> i Any employees and/or Contractors who notices that a container containing a <br /> i <br /> hazardous material may release any or all -of 'the contents, should immediately <br /> 1 notify the nearest supervisor/security. Examples of threatened releases include: <br /> k r <br /> • drum or container with noticeable bulge <br /> + cylinders with broken valves <br /> f • containers and cylinders with hissing sounds that may indicate build up <br /> ii of pressure r r•, :Y. <br /> • partially filled drums that::have been punctured above the level of the <br /> liquid and/or pipes connected to hazardous materials that show signs of <br /> breaking <br /> When making notification, the employees and/or Contractors should give as much <br /> information about the incident as ::possible. Examples of the type of information <br /> needed include: <br /> • where is the container in:question`,, <br /> • name of hazardous material <br /> • reason for thinking that there may be a release <br /> • any other information that may help'the supervisor and the facility <br /> incident team. <br /> The supervisor should immediately. notify security and relay as much information <br /> about the threaten release as possible. Security should notify the Environmental <br /> Manager or designate. If itis determined that a release is imminent, a number of <br /> responses are available depending upon the material.
