The plan <br /> also addresses inspections of said tanks and accompanying pipelines. <br /> California regulations consider oily waste solids (from clean-ups) and:waste oil as <br /> hazardous waste. Therefore, the following procedures should be used for spills <br /> associated with leaking equipment or those small in nature that can be quickly <br /> contained: <br /> Notification. <br /> • for unplanned releases, notify supervisor/Shift Manager x <br /> • Environmental Manager should be notified for.technical support and to.., <br /> arrange for disposal <br /> Clean-Ug x <br /> Oily Waste Solids ► E > <br /> • Wear appropriate PPE such as gloves, tyvek suits etc. <br /> • Arrange to have absorbent material delivered..to'site <br /> • Material is located in stores <br /> • Carefully open bags (can be quite dusty) and broadcast material over area- <br /> • Using a broom, shovel, and/or rake, blend the. dry absorbent into the . <br /> petroleum product <br /> • Mix well until absorbent is well saturated <br /> • Using a shovel, place saturated absorbent into appropriate labeled containers <br /> (55 gallon metal drums) <br /> • Once area is initially cleaned, it may be advisable to put additional absorbent <br /> dawn and broom the area,..to adequately clean,the area ' <br /> • When completed, secure drums . .. :_. <br /> • Transport full drums to hazardous waste building (Southside by boiler room) <br /> Containers for Hazardous Waste <br /> Oily Waste Solids <br /> 909R50.03 = r Rev. 5/20/04- <br /> - i <br />
