Volume calculation: The tank has integral secondary containment with
continuous monitor of the interstice. The piping is in doors under roof over a
sealed concrete slab foundation. The waste transfer line is blown dry at the end
of each transfer operation. The line volume is 6 gallons. If the entire line drained
on to the floor it would form a spill 10' diameter and 1/8" deep. The garage has
sufficient materials to contain and clean the spill if it should happen.
Design of containment area:
The tank is a Lube Cube manufactured by Containment Solutions. These tanks
normally have a UL 142 placard on them but it is missing on this tank. The tank
has integral secondary containment which is dry and clean. The tank is within a
petroleum storage room which has a bermed doorway to prevent any spill from
line failure or transfer operations from leaving the immediate area. The transfer
piping is welded copper which is inspected daily during business hours. The
piping is indoors, above ground and over a sealed concrete floor. The tank has a
continuous interstice monitor and overfill alarm sensor set at 90% of the tank
volume. These points are alarmed by a visual and audible alarm in the garage.
Site Security: The transfer lines and tank are indoors and access is locked during
non-business hours. The dealership is regularly patrolled by the Tracy Police
Department.
Secondary Containment findings: The secondary containment system s of
sufficient capacity and condition for the containment of releases from all ks
and ancillary a uipment.
