Kith
Registered Environmental Health Specialist
Public Health Services of San Joaquin County
304 East Weber Ave., 3rd Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Re: Return to Compliance for Hazardous Waste Generators
Dear Mr. Kith:
We have made all the necessary corrections which you have requested and listed them
below in detail. In addition, attached are copies of the required documents which you
requested.
1) Item 20 under Storage. We have obtained and properly labeled all 55 gallon
drums used to store hazardous waste materials, i.e., used floor sweep,
contaminated diesel fuel, etc.
2) Items #27 and #30 under Manifests. We had the copies of used oil and oil
filter manifests and milk run receipts on file in our Accounts Payable
Department. They have been gathered and filed with the rest of the
manifests and grouped by year. Attached is a copy of the 1999 manifest
totals by group categories and copies of 1999 used oil and filter manifest/milk
run receipts.
Note: We have no separate manifests for the floor sweep. As I explained
on the day of your visit, our old program was our sump sludge and floor
sweep (sawdust) which was put together and handled together. Our new
program is that our wash bay sumps are pumped (vacuumed) out every
three months and hauled separately from the used floor sweep (sawdust).
The used floor sweep is now barreled, labeled and hauled separately with
its own manifest.
3) Items #43 and #47 under Contingency Plan. We had a contingency plan
which listed the emergency coordinator and the designated evacuation area
for everyone to assemble in case of emergency, and also a map of facility
showing the areas containing hazardous materials. Attached is a copy dated
1997. Upon review, it appears to be current.
4 Im
INTERNATIONAL
(209) 944-5821 • (800) 334-4553 (209) 462-1794 • (800) 3001794
