June 26, 2006 0 0
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
304 E. Weber Avenue
Stockton, California 95202
On February 23, 2005, the facility determined that the clean, unused recycled absorbent pads
were no longer needed. The clean unused recycled absorbent pads were subsequently
characterized as non -hazardous based on knowledge of the material and the fact that they were
clean, laundered, dry and had not been reused since being returned from M.L. Winters Co. No
sampling of the material was deemed necessary based on this knowledge. They were then
removed from the facility on March 21, 2005. A Non -Hazardous Waste Data Form dated March
21, 2005 (see Attachment D) describes this material as "Absorbents with Red Dye", however,
this material was actually clean, laundered, dry absorbent pads and was described as such in
Shell's residual management records (see Attachment E).
Should you have any questions regarding the content of this report or need additional
information, please contact our environmental engineer, Mr. Carlton Jordan, at the (310) 816-
2060.
Sincerely,
F
Ron Orallo
Operations Supervisor
Shell Oil Products US
Attachments:
A.
