Generator stated he 's been in <br /> business about 5 years. <br /> CCR 66262.34(d)(2), CFR 262.34(d) Facility failed to post emergency coordinator information and the modified <br /> contingency plan. Hazardous waste generator shall post these information by a phone. A form was provided to <br /> generator during this inspection and the discrepancy was corrected on site. <br /> Discussed with generator the requirement to make a hazardous waste determination of any waste generated on <br /> site. Waste that has been determined to be hazardous must be stored in a compatible container, the container <br /> closed at all time except adding and removing, properly labeled, and disposed by a properly licensed hazardous <br /> waste contractor to a permitted facility within 180 days from the start date of accumulation. In addition, size of <br /> hazardous metal particles must be determined before they can be recycled as scrap metal, as hazardous metal <br /> particles 100 microns or smaller cannot be recycled but must be handled as hazardous waste. <br /> Discussed Conditional Exempt Small Quantity Generator(CESQG) qualification requirements and allowances. <br /> Discussed with generator the requirement to retain a copy of disposal records of any hazardous waste, spent lead <br /> acid batteries, drained oil filters, and universal waste. <br /> Discussed with generator Universal Waste management requirements including aerosol cans, lamps, alkaline <br /> batteries, mercury containing switches, CRT, electronic devices, etc in a closed container with a method to <br /> identify the content and the start date of accumulation. Universal Wastes must be managed within 1 year of <br /> accumulation, and the disposal records maintained on site for at least years. <br /> A copy of CUPA class schedule, blank hazardous waste labels, hazardous waste labeling factsheet, and San <br /> Joaquin County Small Business Hazardous Waste Disposal Program pamphlet, have been provided to generator <br /> during this inspection. <br /> Please be aware as of January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all hazardous materials information <br /> online to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov.
