' Job No. 4780201 • • 2
' 2.0 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
The subject site is located at 820 South American Street in Stockton, California
(see Figure 1), and is identified as Assessor's Parcel Numbers 147-292-9, 10,
' and 11 . The site is located in an area zoned for Commercial and Industrial
uses. The site is occupied by three buildings and a yard area.
2.1 Site Background
Prior to 1992, the site was occupied by Seibold Corporation. Three fuel
Underground Storage Tanks (USTs), used by Seibold and containing gasoline
' and diesel, were reportedly removed from the site in 1989 and 1990. Based on
the results of tank removal soil sample analyses, additional investigation of the
site was mandated by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SJCEHD). In January of 1993, EZC, Inc. collected soil samples from four
' borings and an existing stockpile of soil generated during tank removal
operations, and in April of 1993, E2C, Inc. collected four additional soil
' samples and a grab groundwater sample. The results of this sampling
indicates that soil and groundwater impact exists at the subject site.
1
2.2 Proposed Scope of Work
The proposed investigative approach, and all variations deemed necessary, will
be consistent with the following governmental guidelines:
• The Tri-Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) document
' entitled, "Staff Recommendations for Initial Evaluation and Investigation
of Underground Tanks" (August 10, 1990).
1
E,C, Inc. April 4, 1997
