Telic also contacted agency personnel for information on additional sites that have been identified, but have not yet been placed on these lists, or if there are areas of potential environmental concern that may not be covered by the available lists. 5.3.1 Review of Published Regulatory Agency Lists As part of its assessment of whether there are areas that may pose potential environmental concerns relative to the site. Telic reviewed and evaluated the following regulatory agency lists: • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) National Priorities List (NPL) for Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Sites, July 1987 and June 1988 The NPL provides a list of federal Superfund sites. No businesses or properties on site or within the study area are on the NPL. • U.S. EPA Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Information System (CERCLIS), September 1989 CERCLIS provides information for businesses or properties that are in the federal Superfund Program. Under this program, a business or property is identified and a preliminary assessment performed to determine whether the site shall become a federal Superfund site. No properties on site or within the study area are listed on the CERCLIS. • Expenditure Plan for the Hazardous Substance Cleanup Bond Act of 1984 (State Bond Expenditure Plan), January 1989 The State Bond Expenditure Plan is compiled by the California Department of Health Services (DHS) and contains a list of identified hazardous waste sites in California that have been targeted for cleanup by responsible parties, the DHS, or the U.S. EPA within the next five fiscal years.
