Surface impoundments, <br /> Water or monitoring wells, <br /> Visual evidence of surface-water run-on or runoff, <br /> Underground storage tanks and their associated piping, <br /> Aboveground storage tanks, <br /> Treatment or disposal of operations of hazardous materials and/or wastes, and <br /> Odors. <br /> 5.2 Study Area Reconnaissance <br /> Reconnaissance of the study area (i.e., the off-site area within a 1/2-mile radius of the <br /> site) was performed on August 3, 1990. <br /> To the south and west of the site are a number of trucking companies and warehouses. <br /> This included Swift Transportation, Interstate International Safety Warehouse, 7-Up <br /> Warehouse, OHI Manufacturing and a new facility under construction. With the exception of <br /> the new construction site, there were indications of fueling systems and maintenance facilities <br /> at all the above noted facilities. There are also smaller facilities along West Charter Way and <br /> Nary Drive. <br /> Sites to the north were considered, but because the I-5 interchange construction <br /> activities, the distance from the site and the ground-water flow to the west and northwest, the <br /> likelihood of any property to the north would affect the subsurface conditions at the site is <br /> extremely low. <br /> 5.3 Review of Reeulatory Aeencv Records <br /> The discussion presented in this section is based on available information provided by <br /> government agencies.
