BACKGROUND AND SCOPE OF WORD <br /> ,AGE has been intbrmeui that approximately 19,676 cubic yards of waste tile material andlor broken <br /> concrete tic were transported to the site from concrete roof tile m1 nute wing facilities in Lathrop <br /> and F+rewh Camp, California. According to letters from the Central Valley ReVnnel Water Quality <br /> Control Board(CVRWQCB)dated 16 October 2000 and 18 January 2001, satuplM ofthe waste the <br /> material collected from the MonierLifstile Lathrop and Drench Camp facilites contained significant <br /> concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel CTF`l3-d), Dl-WET TPH-d <br /> (Waste Extraction Test utilizing deionized water,referred to below.as DI-leachable)and Chromium <br /> V1(hexavalent chromium). Copies of the CVRWQCB letters are in Appendix A. <br /> According to the CVRWQb letter dated 16 October 2000,the maximum TPH-d reported in samples <br /> collected by MonierLifstile was 17,000 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg); the average TPH-d was, <br /> 1,100 mg/kg. The maximum DI-leachable TPH.d in the MonierLifetile samples'as 31.0 mg/L;the <br /> average DI-Leachable TPA-d was 9.5 mg1L.
