Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is
a hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for these oily
metal fines, and manage them according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or smaller
must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and
supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed.
2) One 55-gallon metal container with some liquid, labeled as"methanol", was noted next to the SO2 storage area.
Mr. McPherson indicated that it looked like water and not the methanol, and he is not sure what it was. Any person
who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately make a hazardous waste
determination for this waste , and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement
and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed.
3) Copper colored material was noted on the ground in the outdoor storage area, located next to the hazardous waste
storage area; the spilled material covered an area of approximately 5x2 feet.
