M Based on the return to compliance certification received on 11-10-2011 metal fines "metal shavings, <br />sweep metal residue" will be handled as hazardous waste. <br />2) One red metal container storing oily rags, labeled as "empty every night', was noted inside the mechanic shop <br />area. This container was full of oily rags, and according to facility's personnel is being disposed off as hazardous <br />waste. Also, according to Mr. Mark McPherson, this container is being emptied on a quarterly basis into the main <br />hazardous waste storage area. <br />3) One 55 -gallon container of oily absorbent (located in the hazardous waste storage area) lacked hazardous <br />properties on its label; this label was corrected at the time of inspection. <br />4) One 55 -gallon container of ammonia filters (located in the hazardous waste storage area), lacked an accumulation <br />start date on its label. <br />5) Four liter amber container of waste sulfuric mixture, located in the onsite laboratory, lacked hazardous properties <br />and physical state on its label. This was corrected onsite. <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br />- the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />- name and address of generator <br />- hazardous properties <br />- physical state <br />- composition (contents) <br />- accumulation start date <br />Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required <br />information. Submit proof of correction to the EHD. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />Overall Inspection Comments: <br />Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br />documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br />paperwork, by 7-3-16. <br />Please be aware as of January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all hazardous materials information <br />online to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) at hftp://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include <br />your hazardous waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant <br />activities and required fields. <br />This facility generates the following wastes: <br />-used oil <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />
