Beginning January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all new (or any changes to existing) <br /> hazardous waste information online to the CERS at http:llcers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include your hazardous <br /> waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant activities and required <br /> fields. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 301 CCR 66265.31 Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> The following leaks and staining were noted at the time of inspection: <br /> 1. One (non-empty) mineral oil storage tote, located inside the outdoor hazardous waste storage area, had some oily <br /> staining around its base <br /> 2. Metal fines were noted on the floor around the bench grinding equipment located in the maintenance shop (parts <br /> area), <br /> 3. Oily film was noted on the facility's floor adjacent to the satellite accumulation area, <br /> 4. Large oily staining and some loose oil-saturated and dry absorbent were noted around the base of the outdoor <br /> Quincy Rotary Screw vacuum pump located in the compressor area. <br /> Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous <br /> waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately fix all leaks <br /> and staining, and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting <br /> documentation explaining how these wastes were managed. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 303 CCR 66265.33 Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems, spill control, or decontamination equipment. <br /> One eye wash/shower combo located adjacent to the battery charging station in the "cup" production area, and one <br /> eye wash/shower combo station in the OPMR area, did not appear to be maintained, Mr. David Bauer indicated that <br /> they should have been inspected. Furthermore, standing oil and debris were noted inside the secondary containment <br /> in the satellite accumulation area. All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill <br /> control equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to <br /> assure its proper operation in time of emergency.
