Unified
U 13
STOCKTON DISTRIBUTION OPERATING PROCED
Janitor MAY 2
Overview ENVIROIN
ENTAL HEALTH
DEPART
Janitors are responsible for completing assignments in a timely fashion while working at a safe and productive pabl NX this is such
an essential part of the warehouse operation, specific procedures need to be adhered to, in order to maintain safety, cleanliness,
investigate and be on the look out for rodent activity, inventory accuracy and efficient production. Safe, efficient, helping to maintain
FDA, State and Local Health Regulations and productive operation of a Janitor is a requirement of this job.
Start Up Process
I. Punch in at the time clock no earlier than 3 minutes before your shift begins. Also make sure you punch in and out for all lunch
periods. Lunch period is 30 minutes.
2. Check crewing sheet for job assignment.
3. Always conduct a safety check on the pallet jack or tug prior to operating. Be sure that the brakes and horn are working
properly. When you first sign onto Vocollect it will ask you if your equipment passed the Safety Inspection. You will need to
respond with a Yes or No. If No contact a supervisor. Make sure it drives straight and turns easily. If the equipment is found
to be unsafe, immediately notify a supervisor or tape an "Out of Service" sign on the equipment and fill out the work order
indicating exactly what's wrong with the equipment. The forms are located in the battery room. For normal wear and tear, make
sure that you write up the equipment using a work order so the shop can get it fixed, this will help keep all the pallet jacks
working at their best.
4. Always report to your assigned work area prepared and ready to work with all necessary Vocollect equipment needed to perform
your job.
5. Your first selection assignment will be assigned to you. The start time of that first assignment is 6 minutes. After the shift starts,
get your equipment, and proceed to your work area. Your first assignment start time will start automatically at that
predetermined time.
6. Sign on to your Vocollect using your employee ID and whse 1.
7. Retrieve your assignment from the LMS Desk. When prompted by your Vocollect unit, sign in to the assignment
8. The assignment will consist of a ship pallet number beginning with the letter"S" followed by 6 numbers.
9. When entering the ship pallet number into your Vocollect unit, do not say the "S". It is nothing more than an identifier.
10. At any time during an assignment you experience an abnormal situation, you must report to a Supervisor so they can determine
the course of action.
11. If a can or bin is missing from the assigned slot please notify your supervisor immediately so we can get it replaced.
12. Assignment priority- work the assignment in route sequence unless supervisor instructs you in a different pattern for the day.
Specific Job Procedures
Collect garbage, shrink wrap cans, and slip sheets. Customer 999001
1. You will need a Tug, garbage dumpster, empty shrink wrap bin and room to store slip sheets.
2. Sign into your assignment.
3. Upon arriving at the pick slot, you will need to verify that it is the correct slot by saying the "check digit" number located on the
rack above or to the side of the slot, or the can itself.
4. Once you give the check digit, listen carefully to the amount of cases being requested by the Vocollect unit. The case quantity is
referring to the amount of cans in that particular slot. If the slot only has a garbage can that needs emptied say "one". If both the
garbage can and shrink-wrap need emptied then say "two". The cardboard is figured into the standard based on a frequency so
you don't have to include that in part of the quantity. Please return the shrink-wrap can next to the upright and the garbage can to
the right of shrink-wrap can with the slot tag facing out. If there is nothing to collect then say "Zero" and proceed to your next
pick slot.
5. Immediately begin working by arriving at your first pick slot and continue the assignment until all pick slots have been
completed. This is accomplished by following the Vocollect voice selection system.
6. If you come across any debris on the floor within your path, pick it up as you perform this job.
7. When finished with your assignment, travel to door 145, confirm the check digit number and transfer all commodities into the
proper compactor.
8. Proceed with your next assignment.
11/28/11
