A second inspection on 3-9-12 resulted in <br /> access to hazardous waste drums of used oil in a building that was previously locked and inaccessible <br /> during the initial inspection on 3-6-12. This is the updated report as of 3-9-12. <br /> 108. Metal fines generated from the welding shop are being recycled as scrap metal without first <br /> determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if <br /> the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste <br /> determination for the metal fines, and manage it according to the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br /> Particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a <br /> hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was <br /> managed by 4-9-12. <br /> 108. Used sand blast media generated from the sand blast machine and waste filters from the "paint <br /> booth" for adhesives application are being disposed of without first determining hazardous properties. <br /> Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop <br /> disposing of used sand blast media and waste filters, make a hazardous waste determination for the <br /> used sand blast media and waste filters, and manage them according to the Title 22 hazardous waste <br /> regulations.
