Metal fines generated from metal grinding and cutting are being disposed of without first determining <br /> particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is <br /> a hazardous waste. Immediately stop disposing metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for <br /> the metal waste, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 <br /> microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous <br /> waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed by <br /> May 5, 2012. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 610. A blue 5 gallon bucket of used oil and fuel filters was observed in the hazardous waste storage area <br /> open without a label. Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained <br /> used oil filters," and marked with an accumulation start date.
