STATUS IPAGES <br /> BDS/DSG 112/19191 y'+ Non—exem t 1 of Z I <br /> SUMMARY 9s~ <br /> Under the direction of the Carton Superintendent, is responsible for directing and supervising <br /> I <br /> carton forming operations for an assigned shift at the plant. Responsible for achieving and 11 <br /> maintaining the lowest possible production costs and optimum profit levels consistent with <br /> customer requirements, with company policies, with effective relations including safety, and <br /> I <br /> with all applicable governmental regulations. <br /> SPECIFIC DUTIES <br /> 1. Directs and maintains carton forming operations for an assigned shift to assure maximum r <br /> efficiency and maintenance of necessary quality and inventory levels, consistent with i <br /> product and order specifications and delivery dates. <br /> 2. Reviews daily finishing schedules and approves equipment set—ups and speeds, and assigns i <br /> i <br /> sufficient manpower to work stations. ! <br /> I Pays special attention to job jackets for order quantity, special gluing, order number ! <br /> I <br /> cut—off points. ensures proper job cut--off points from one order number to the next. ! <br /> 4. Maintains proper make—ready information and insures proper start}-up procedures. I <br /> 5. Trouble—shoots any operational or production problems as necessary, identifying equipment <br /> I <br /> malfunctions and/or maintenance service requirements. and taking corrective action to ! <br /> resolve problems. <br /> 6. Maintains complete records of shift operations (i.e., equipment performance, supplies used, <br /> inventory levels, etc.) and maintenance activity. Orders parts and supplies accordingly. and ! <br /> directs and enforces proper maintenance and repair of carton forming; machinery and <br /> equipment: supplies a priority repair list to Carton Superintendent. <br /> 7. Trains and supervises employees in safe and efficient work methods on carton forming <br /> machines to assure consistently reliable operational efficiency (i.e., ensures there are j <br /> trained employees for key machine positions including trained"move—ups" for filling <br /> I <br /> absences). <br /> 8. Assigns, directs, assists and counsels hourly shift employees to achieve maximum effectiveness, j <br /> delegating responsibility and authority as appropriate. Motivates, develops and disciplines <br /> I <br /> employees as appropriate. I <br /> 9. Maintains specified efficiencies, scrap limits, and minimum product returns for shift � <br /> operations. <br />
