There must be at least one <br /> emergency coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and the following <br /> information must be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency coordinator; location of fire <br /> extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the phone number of the fire department, <br /> unless the facility has a direct alarm. Immediately appoint an emergency coordinator and post the required <br /> information by a phone. A form is provided that can be used for this purpose. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> Two piles of oily absorbent were observed on the floor of the building that previously housed the shop. Facilities <br /> shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to <br /> air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean up and properly <br /> containerize all oily absorbent, and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement <br /> and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> Four empty drums were observed in the hazardous waste storage area at 804 Humphreys Dr. not marked with the <br /> date emptied. Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the <br /> date they were emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty <br /> containers per this section. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class ll. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> The following were observed in the hazardous waste storage area at 804 Humphreys Dr.: <br /> -A 55 gallon black steel drum of oily debris with a hazardous waste label located on the lid instead of the drum and <br /> no hazardous property or accumulation start date. <br /> -A 55 gallon black steel drum of solids with no labeling. <br /> -A 55 gallon black steel drum of oily debris with the contents written on the removable green lid and no hazardous <br /> waste labeling. <br /> Diesel saturated absorbent pads and a small amount of standing liquid were observed in the fill box for the east <br /> red-dye diesel fuel tank at 120 Hooper Dr. with no hazardous waste labeling. <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br /> stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Since it cannot be determined how long these <br /> hazardous wastes have been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this <br /> waste under manifest.
