0 0 <br /> SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM POLICY/PROCEDURE MANUAL <br /> TITLE: HAZARDOUS MATERIAL SPILL MANAGEMENT POLICY NUMBER 5.06 <br /> PAGE 7 OF 9 <br /> 3.3.5 If the spill is an incidental (small ) quantity, trained personnel from the <br /> department involved with the spill will identify the material, isolate the <br /> spill, neutralize the material, and contain and proceed to clean up the spill <br /> using department spill materials, <br /> 3.3.5.1 Departmental staff shall not respond with "Emergency spill <br /> response" off-hours unless they have received appropriate <br /> hazardous materials training. <br /> 3.3.5.2 All other procedures will be followed as written for regular <br /> response during normal working hours (3.1 and 3.2). <br /> 3.4 Clean up of hazardous materials spills. <br /> 3.4.1 Procedures for clean up are to be followed as indicated in the Kaiser <br /> Permanente Medical Care Program - Safety Management plan, emergency <br /> spill response. <br /> 3.5 Spills involving soil/water contamination. <br /> 3.5.1 When possible, all hazardous spills shall be contained and diked to prevent <br /> possible contamination of ground water, soil, and sewer systems. <br /> 3.5.2 In the event a hazardous waste spill should get into the sanitary sewer <br /> system, immediate action should be taken to stop further contamination. <br /> The local SPW shall be notified immediately for corrective action: <br /> City of Stockton Public works (209) 937- <br /> 8341 <br /> after 5:00 p.m.: (209) 937-8341#3 <br /> 3.5.3 In the event a hazardous waste spill should get into the storm drains, <br /> immediate action shall be taken to stop further contamination.
