UPS-01 Hazardous Communication Program. Page 2 of 2 <br /> 6. TOOLS and EQUIPMENT <br /> SDS binder, Computer,^Printer& Access to the company shared drive (Tiles) <br /> 7. INSTRUCTIONS: <br /> 1. This policy, SOP, & SDS's will be available at each DC in the Hazardous Communication Binder, <br /> that is in a common area, where all employees know is located &have access to at all times during <br /> operations. These documents will also be stored electronically in the company shared drive in the <br /> safety folder under hazardous communication. <br /> 2. All Training is to be conducted in conjunction with the GI-IS & OSHA standards of labeling <br /> elements & the 16 section SDS format understanding. <br /> 3. Before a new hazardous chemical or material is introduced into the work place a job hazardous <br /> analyses must be requested first from the EHS manager. <br /> 4. It is the responsibility of the DC safety committee to obtain the necessary SDS's for hazardous <br /> materials from the EHS manager when a new chemical is introduced into the work place/ <br /> environment. <br /> 5. EHS Manager will review the SDS, ensure the environment is stable to handle, assign PPE & and <br /> provide storage & disposal methods. <br /> 6. Once the SC receives the required safety information from EHS, It is the SC leads responsibility <br /> to train all personnel on the safe utilization methods for application of the hazardous chemical <br /> /material. <br /> 7. It is the SC's responsibility to review the SDS & adhere to all EHS requirements when training <br /> personnel to use hazardous substances. <br /> 8. The EHS manager will update the company shared drive & distribute to DC's that are required to <br /> utilize the new chemical. <br /> 9. When SDS's need replacing or updating, the safety committee lead is to notify the DC manager. <br /> 10. The DC manager then will print the SDS replacement off from the company shared drive & give <br /> to the SC Lead to update the SDS binder. <br /> 8.
