IX. EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS <br /> 1. At least two persons physically capable of rescuing an employee by use <br /> of a hoist, winch, lifeline, or entry into a permit space shall be on site <br /> and immediately available. <br /> • Each person shall be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first- <br /> aid, air-supplied and self-contained respiratory protective <br /> equipment, and the operation of hoists, winches, or other equipment <br /> available for rescue. <br /> 2. A system for communication shall be used between employees inside a <br /> permit space and the Attendant whenever communication is difficult due <br /> to the use of respirators or when the employees are not in direct line of <br /> sight due to the nature of the space. <br /> 3.
