X. RESCUE PROCEDURES <br /> 1. The Attendant shall alert rescue personnel of the emergency. <br /> 2. Rescue efforts shall be conducted from outside of the permit space as much as <br /> possible. <br /> Hoists or winches, tripods, or other means shall be provided and used to <br /> enable emergency rescue from outside the space. <br /> 3. Precautions shall be taken if it is necessary to enter the permit space for rescue. <br /> • Rescue personnel shall wear harnesses and lifelines tied off outside the <br /> space. <br /> • Rescue personnel shall wear all respiratory and personal protective <br /> equipment as required in Section VII. <br /> 4. The Project Safety Officer or Branch Safety Officer must be immediately notified <br /> of any permit space emergency entry or rescue. <br /> • The Company Safety Officer shall be notified within 24 hours. <br /> ADMINIS/CONSP 16 June 2, 1994 <br />
