SITE HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> A. OVERVIEW <br /> This safety plan covers the work to be performed at former Unocal Service Station 0123 <br /> located at 1034 Central Avenue in Tracy, California. The scope of work for this phase of the <br /> work includes the excavation of one trench to be used for the closure in place of two 550- <br /> gallon underground storage tanks and for the collection of soil and groundwater samples. The <br /> trench will be constructed to a dimension of 15 feet in length, 4 feet in width and 9 feet in <br /> depth. Details of the trench construction are presented in a Tank Closure In Place Work <br /> Plan, prepared by Pacific Environmental Group, Inc. (PACIFIC), dated April 11, 1996. <br /> Chemicals that may be encountered during field work include petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> (calculated as gasoline) and benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, and xylenes. <br /> 2.0 PROJECT SAFETY AUTHORITY <br /> A.
