San Joaquin County Local Health District Re: SOIL REMEDIATION WORK PLAN
November -3, 1988_- Page 2 of 2_ _ _ _ _ _ 1649 E. Channel, Stockton, CA
6. Remediation Steps: At this time we are requesting a resample. Our plan is to
excavate an area approximately 20' x 20' to a depth of 30', stockpile the excavated
soil on plastic and cover, to hopefully remove all contaminated soil from, in and
around the excavated area. We then plan to take one bottom sample from the center
of the excavated area and one sample from each of the side walls. There will be
approximately 100 cubic yards of soil excavated and this will be tested at a rate
of 2 samples per 50 cubic yards. We will be prepared to take as many samples as
the Health District deems necessary. We will test for BTX & E and TEPH (see attached
copy of Tank Closure Plan Review Checklist -Minimum Verification Lab Analyses). The
excavated area will be barricaded.
Hopefully the sample result levels are low enough to allow aeration of the
excavated soil on site under permits, guidelines, and direction of the San Joaquin
County Air Pollution Department.
If the level of contaminates show too high for aeration, the soil will be
transported, under manifest, to a proper hazardous waste facility for disposal,
namely Kettleman City, or possibly a Class 2 site, such as Forward, Inc.
7. Timing: Sampling could be scheduled within one week following your review of this
work plan. The sample analysis should be ready for your review within two weeks
after they have been taken.
SAN JOAQUIN LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT
1601 E. Hazelton Ave. -Phone: 466-6781
P.O.
