In response to changing conditions at the site, WPI will modify the Health and <br /> Safety Plan, to meet new requirements. <br /> 1.2 PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br /> The Health and Safety Plan is intended to describe the minimum procedural and equipment <br /> requirements for the protection of WPI employees, U-Haul personnel, subcontractors, and the <br /> public who may be affected by the work requirements. Operating conditions may be expected to <br /> change as the work progresses, requiring some modifications to the plan. As appropriate, <br /> addenda will be provided by the WPI Senior Safety Officer. <br /> The plan is designed to comply with established WPI policies and procedures, and applicable <br /> state, federal, and local regulations. Therefore, no changes to the plan will be authorized without <br /> prior approval of the Senior Safety Officer. All WPI personnel, site visitors, and subcontractor <br /> personnel are subject to this directive. <br /> SECTION 2.0 <br /> 2.1 SENIOR SAFETY OFFICER <br /> The senior safety officer(Dave Henry) reports to WPI management and is responsible for on-site <br /> safety and loss prevention functions. His major responsibilities include: <br /> A. Health surveillance of all WPI employees; <br /> B. Assuring that safety procedures in effect are in compliance with appropriate federal, state, <br /> and local regulations; <br /> C. Assuring appropriate personal protective equipment is adequate for actual hazards of on- <br /> site conditions; <br /> D. Coordination of health emergency plans with the local medical facilities; <br /> E. Establishing and coordinating fit-testing for all respiratory protective devices to be used <br /> on site; and, <br />
