the soil stockpiles were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons(TPH)using Environmental Protection <br /> Agency(EPA)Method 8015(using gasoline and diesel fuel standards),for Benzene,Toluene,Ethylbenzene, <br /> and Xylenes (BTEX) with MTBE distinction using EPA Method 8020, and for Total Lead using EPA <br /> Method 6010. <br /> 3.5 BACKFILLING AND RF. 1RFA IN THE EXCAVATION <br /> On December 18, 19,and 20, 1996,Wayne Perry,Inc.backfilled the tank excavation area with imported fill <br /> material and compacted native soil. A portion of the native soil (soil stockpiled near the excavation)and <br /> imported soil was used to bring the excavations up to within four to six inches of the site grade. Compaction <br /> testing was completed by Kleinfelder,Inc.of Stockton, California. A copy of the compaction test report is <br /> included in Appendix E. <br /> Following the completion of the backfilling and compaction program, Wayne Perry, Inc. resurfaced the <br /> excavation area with asphalt to match the surrounding grade level. It must be noted that approximately 30 <br /> to 50 cubic yards of native soil was left stockpiled on site following the backfilling and resurfacing program. <br /> 6 <br />
