June 5, 1998 Harding Lawson Associates
41017 002
Mr. Michael Kith
San Joaquin County Public Health Service
Environmental Health Division
Page 2
• The 210,000-gallon concrete UST was used to store a heavy fuel oil, Number 6 fuel.
• The UST removal subcontractor is OGISO Environmental of Oakland California who are a California
licensed contractor with a A-HAZ license (license # 706242).
• The UST has a diameter of approximately 70 feet and the bottom of the UST occurs at approximately
7.25 feet below the ground surface (BGS).
• Residual contents will be recycled prior to removal by a state licensed firm to be determined based on
results of the analyses of the UST contents. Several potential haulers are included in the attached
information.
• The concrete bottom and sidewalls will be dissaggregated, decontaminated, and disposed of as inert
construction debris or utilized as backfill material.
The PHS/EHD will be notified in writing at least 48 hours in advance. Because of the large size of the
UST, the removal process will take several days and is scheduled to proceed in June following issuance of
the PHS/EHD closure permit.
Please contact the undersigned at(916) 364-0793 if you have any questions regarding this information or
any other aspect of the project.
Yours very truly,
HARDING LAWSON ASSOCIATES
6waxe-
Gary D.
