Items # 18,19,20—Attached are the UST-related procedures and plans that are on site at
all times. Perhaps these were not evident to the inspector on 10/24/01, because most
documents are kept in electronic form and can be viewed and downloaded as needed.
The documents include: the Fuel Tank Monitoring and Management Procedures (Plan),
and the Hazardous Emergency Response Procedures (Plan), and the weekly UST Visual
Inspections performed by site personnel. These copies are included, in paper form, as
Attachments 7, 8, and 9.
The BMC Monitoring Plan (located at the BMC) is included as Attachment b and
includes practices and procedures for monitoring, validating, and responding to UST
alarms.
Sprint recognizes, and is committed to, its obligation for the protection of the environment and
the public. In this present instance, a Certificate of Financial Responsibility is one way it meets
this commitment. Another, is the continuous, constant, and uninterrupted surveillance of the
UST systems and alarms by a department that was created for the sole purpose of monitoring
such systems. And yet another, is minimizing the use of paper and keeping records, plans, and
procedures in electronic form that are easily accessible at the touch of a computer key.
In closing, it is anticipated that Sprint's actions, described herein, will resolve the issues
mentioned in the Inspection Report. If you have any questions, please contact me at (702) 244-
7212. Thank you.
Yours truly,
xy/ 7
Nora Galindo, Esq.
Environmental and Health Manager—West
ATTACHMENTS
Cc: Caryl Olmstead w/attachments
Jey Lemes w/attachments
Margaret Pitts w/o attachments
Thad Schneweis w/attachments
