-San Joaquin Local Health District Re: SOIL REeIATION WORK PLAN
October 21:1988_-_Pale 2 of 2_ _ Site: 7137 E. Acampo Road, Acampo, CA
5. Remedial Steps: Since the tank had never contained new or used motor oil
but the adjacent road has been oiled over the years (a common practice on
dirt access roads) the equipment used to remove the tank might have chipped
away a portion of the road top and caused it to fall in the excavated area.
When samples were taken and with no equipment to remove soil or obtain
a reasonable depth for samples, the samples resulted in showing a high amount
of oil.
At this time we are requesting a resample. We propose to dig to a
depth of 10 to 15 feet and take one sample from the center of the excavated
area. However, we will be prepared to take as many samples as San Joaquin
County Health District deems necessary. Soil will be tested for BTX, TEPH,
Total Lead, and Oil. Excavated soil will be placed on plastic, covered, and
tested for the same. The excavated area will be barricaded until test analysis
have been completed and evaluated.
If test results are negative, dirt will be replaced in the excavated area.
If tests results are positive, the amount of contamination will determine
disposal or treatment.
6. Laboratory that will collect soil samples: Canonie Environmental, Stockton, CA
A signed "Release of Information Authorization" is attached.
