Box 30331
Stockton, CA 95213-0331
Re: 1611 South Airport Way, Stockton
Dear Mr. Hoblitzell:
Supervisor Steve Gutierrez requested that I respond to your letter dated October 25, 1999,
regarding the underground storage tank removal at 1611 South Airport Way, Stockton. It is my
understanding that you contest Environmental Health Division, San Joaquin County Public Health
Services' requirement for a description of the covering for the soil stockpile and the final soil
destination location in the event that contaminated soil is involved. Code, § 25299.2.)
San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division has set local
standards of performance which are applied to all tank removal projects. These standards may be more
stringent than the state standards or other local agencies. San Joaquin County currently requires that
the initial work plan identify the final destination place for any soil, if contaminated. It is my
