UNDERGROUND TANK REMOVAL <br /> AT VARIOUS SITES <br /> (Maintenance Yard (3) , Live Oak, Alpine, <br /> Houston, Woodbridge, and Tokay High Schools) <br /> GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> Lodi Unified School District invites bids to remove and dispose of <br /> underground storage tanks within the District. Tank locations, capa- <br /> cities and previous contents are listed below. All removal , soil <br /> sampling and analysis and disposal methods will follow regulations of <br /> the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), San Joaquin County Local <br /> Health District, the Lodi City Building Department, the appropriate <br /> local Fire Department, Cal/OSHA, and the State Department of Health <br /> Services. <br /> 1. Lodi Unified School District will apply for permits to close the <br /> underground tanks. When a contractor has been named the applica- <br /> tion will be completed. The District will pay application fees. <br /> 2. The Contractor will apply for permits from the Lodi City Building <br /> Department, the San Joaquin County Building Department, and the <br /> appropriate local Fire Department. The contractor will pay all <br /> costs associated with these permits. <br /> 3. The tanks and all associated plumbing must be emptied of product.4 gemeU b <br /> 4. Tanks must be purged of all combustible vapor prior to removal. <br /> Te4, <br /> 5. Extreme care must be employed by the Contractor to prevent tear- <br /> ing, ripping or puncturing of tanks. Vent pipes or other openings <br /> in the tanks or associated plumbing must be plugged immediately <br /> upon discovery,' preferably with screwed plugs. <br /> 6. Appropriate notifications, for tank inspections and soil sampling <br /> requirements, must be made to the San Joaquin County Health <br /> Department and the appropriate Fire Department. 4T-CjF►q`ST c(gffEX71, I` AbegA[E <br /> 7. When the tank is removed, the County will determine appropriate <br /> soil sampling strategy. Sampling and analytical services will <br /> be performed by California Water Lays, 1430 Carpenter Road, <br /> Modesto, CA, phone (209) 527-4050. <br /> 8.
