JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS
It is not anticipated that there will be any significant or major potential
source of exposures due to the scope of work to be followed on this project.
The possible major contaminants to be encountered on the project are
Petroleum Hydrocarbons and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's).
Inhalation and dermal hazards are the major area of concern regarding the
exposure to VOC's. However, on this project there is very little potential risk
of any significant source of exposure. There may be some risk of hazards
based upon the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) of the specific compounds
encountered on the project site. The product line removal and all handling of
contaminated soil will be witnessed by the proper authorities.
The major source of concern when considering hazard analysis on this
project would be general site safety. During construction all CAL and FED
OSHA codes of safe practices will be followed to insure the safety of all
parties. All trenching and excavation will be shored or sloped where
necessary, to OSHA requirements. Permits for the project from the City of
STOCKTON BUILDING DEPT. and FIRE DEPARTMENT will be posted on
site. The proper authorities and inspectors have and will play a vital role in the
construction at this site. No work will begin until the SJAQMD has given its
authority to begin work and have been notified of the construction start and
completion dates.
