3. PLAN REVIEW C IELTNES <br /> a. The enclosed plan review sheet is provided for your information to assist you in interpreting <br /> our requirements for your new UST system. <br /> b. A copy of the California UST Regulations may be obtained from the State Water Resources <br /> Control Board at (916) 7394332. <br /> C. Permits andtor plan check approval may also be required by the San Joaquin Air Pollution <br /> Control District,County/City Building Department and Fire District in your respective area. <br /> d. Complete and submit the State Water Resources Control Board "Facility Permit (A)' and <br /> Tank Permit (B)' application forms. <br /> e. A minimum of 3 inspections will be conducted on the UST system installation. A S-8 per <br /> hour inspection fee shall he charged for additional inspections or reinspection as required. <br /> (See required inspection below) <br /> f. Applicanticontractor to adhere to the approval plan and any change or deviation shall be <br /> reported and approved by PHS/EHD prior to installation. <br /> g. Application for installation of underground tanks are only valid for the calendar year in which <br /> it has been issued. A permit may be extended into the next calendar year if a letter is sent <br /> to PHS-EHD requesting this extension thirty days prior to the end of the calendar year. A <br /> one year--one time extension may be granted by PHS-EHD upon receipt of this letter. <br /> 4. REOUTRED INSPECTIONS <br /> All appointments for inspection must be made at least 48 hours in advance for the following. <br /> a. Primary and secondary tank(s) shall be tested pneumatically at 3 - 5 p.s.i. for one hour,one- <br /> half hour for primary tank and one-half hour for secondary tank. Double walled tanks are <br /> exempt if annular space is monitored using either pressure or vacuum testing. (All external <br /> connection shall be soap tested while under pressure) <br /> b. Pressure piping shall be hydrostatically tested to 150% or pneumatically tested to 110% of <br /> maximum anticipated system pressure but does not less than 5 lbs. per square inch at the <br /> highest point of the system for a minimum of 20 minutes. <br /> C. All lines other than pressure piping shall be pressure tested at not less than 3 p.s.i. and not <br /> more than 5 ps.i. for a minimum of 20 minutes and soap tested while under pressure. <br /> d. Containment sumps shall pass a 24 hour leak test. <br /> e. Overfill protection shall be capable of draining liquid back into fuel tanks. <br /> e. Monitoring system shall pass a functional test The functional test shall consist of the <br /> activation of the alarm via the monitoring probes/senors. <br /> f. Final inspection and approval to operate will be granted after the above requirements are <br /> satisfied and a hard copy of the precision test is submitted to inspector at site. <br /> The contractor's approved printset of the UST installation shall kept at the job site and must be shown to the <br /> inspector upon request.
