I. INTRODUCTION <br />The purpose of this Site Safety Plan is to establish requirements for protecting the health <br />and safety of employees, contractors and subcontractors during the: <br />REMOVAL OF UNDER GROUND STORAGE TANKS and CONFIRMATION <br />SOIL SAMPLING at the ARTIC ICE FACILITY in STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA. <br />This plan describes hazard information and health and safety procedures to be followed <br />by all designated field personnel during the field activities & sample collection <br />operations. <br />IL FACILITY BACKGROUND/WORKPLAN <br />A. Address <br />36 North "D" Street, Stockton, California <br />B. Location <br />The facility is on the south east corner of Weber & "D" Streets in Stockton, Calif., <br />due north of the cross town freeway. <br />C. Schedule <br />Completion of an excavation in and around (1) 1,000 Gallon Gasoline U.S.T. and <br />(1) Unused 350 Gallon Waste Oil UST. When the tank is located and exposed it <br />will be triple rinsed, pumped of the rinsate with a vacuum truck, inerted using dry <br />ice (CO2), removal & loading for transportation, soil sampling and backfilling of <br />excavation. All activities to be conducted during daylight hours (approximately <br />8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). <br />D Operation <br />Field activities include the use of a Case 580K backhoe, jackhammer, compressor, <br />steam cleaner, air pumps, soil sampling tools, compaction equipment. <br />Detailed or Specific specialty equipment is used as needed for site specific <br />conditions and are unknown at this time. <br />III. KEY PERSONNEL AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />All of the field and excavation activities will be performed by Don Light of Del -Tech <br />Geotechnical Support. The soil sampling will be completed by Mike Niemi of <br />Geological Technics, Inc. Soil samples collected will be forwarded to Sherwood Labs. in <br />Hilmar, Ca. under Chain -of -Custody. <br />
