INTRODUCTION The purpose of this manual is to provide specifiers, owners, contractors and their employees with detailed in- structions for installing Single -Wall and Double -Wall Fiber- glass Underground Storage Tanks and related accessories. Note: Tank installation is a very specialized business. If you do not have the proper experience, please contact a contractor who dogs, or call Containment Solutions Inc. for a list of educated contractors. The material presented has been developed and refined in the installation of over 200,000 tanks. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Proper installation of each tank is essential: ♦ To ensure the safety of all the individuals involved in the tank installation. ♦ To prevent tank damage and/or failure, which could lead to product loss and environmental con- tamination. ♦ To validate the tank structural warranty for underground petroleum storage. TANK INSTALLATION Do not enter the tank excavation unless necessary and in compliance with OSHA regulations! Follow OSHA guidelines for tank excavation. Please consult them. ♦ The presence of Containment Solutions representative at the jobsite does not relieve the contractor of responsi- bility to follow the published installation instructions. TO ACTIVATE THE TANK'S 30 -YEAR STRUCTURAL WARRANTY FOR UNDERGROUND PETROLEUM STORAGE: ♦ These instructions must be followed. ♦ Installation checklist (Pub. No. INST 6002) must be prop- erly completed, signed by the installing contractor's rep- resentative and the tank owner's representative. ♦ The installation checklist must be retained by the tank owner and/or installing contractor to validate any fu- ture warranty claim. BEFORE YOU BEGIN ♦ Read, understand and follow these instructions. ♦ Barricade the tank area until job is completed. ♦ Review and prepare to complete the installation check- list Pub. No. INST 6002. The properly completed instal- lation checklist must be retained by the tank owner and/ or installation contractor to validate any future warranty claim. ♦ Check with local authorities for local building codes, underground utilities, or testing requirements. ♦ If you have questions on other installation details, such as specific procedures for adding tanks to an existing installation or alternate installation techniques, contact your local Containment Solutions Sales Representative.
