All employees exposed to an 8 hour TWA of 85 dBA or greater must be notified of their <br /> noise exposure. <br /> 3.24.2.1 Audiometric Testing <br /> Audiometric testing (hearing test) is required annually for employees exposed to noise <br /> with an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 dBA or greater. Baseline or initial audiograms are <br /> required for new employees within six months of their initial exposure to noise at or above a <br /> TWA of 85 dBA. <br /> 3.24.3 Control Measures <br /> Where possible, engineering and administrative control measures shall be made to reduce <br /> the noise exposure to employees. Where this is not feasible or practical, hearing protection <br /> equipment must be worn for exposure to 85 dBA or greater. <br /> �.. 3.24.4 Protective Equipment <br /> Hearing protectors (plugs, muffs) shall be provided and their use enforced for everyone <br /> exposed to noise levels of 85 dBA or greater. The protectors provided must be effective in <br /> reducing noise to safe levels when they are worn properly. <br /> 3.24.5 Training Program <br /> All employees with a TWA of 85 dBA or greater must be included in a training program <br /> which includes information on: the effects of noise on hearing, control measures, hearing <br /> protectors, audiometric tests and requirements of OSHA Noise Standard. This training program <br /> must be repeated annually for affected employees. <br /> 3.24.6 Record Keeping <br /> Records shall be kept of employee noise measurements, audiometric testing and <br /> audiometer calibration.
