2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The Scope of Work includes the following activities: <br /> • Removal of Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) — The Scope of Work to be <br /> performed by Geofon will involve the removal, cleaning, decontamination, and <br /> transportation of two 1,500-gallon heating fuel single wall steel USTs, and its <br /> associated piping. The USTs will be inerted, and manifested. Tank inerting, removal, <br /> and transport will be in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) 1604. <br /> The USTs and associated piping will be hauled to a state-approved disposal facility. <br /> • Soil Sampling — After removal of the USTs and piping is complete, four (4) soil <br /> samples, one from beneath each end of the tanks will be collected. If necessary, two <br /> (2) soil samples will be collected, one (1) for quality control purposes and one (1) for <br /> stockpile analysis. The soil samples will be analyzed for total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons extractables using EPA Method 8015M, for TPH-G using EPA Method <br /> 8015M, for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and oxygenates using EPA Method <br /> 8260, for lead using EPA Method 6010 and for TTLC acid digestion using EPA <br /> Method 3040. <br /> • Site Restoration — Geofon will remove all construction debris, materials and will <br /> demobilize all equipment as soon as possible after site work has been completed. The <br /> site will be restored to pre-construction conditions including proper backfilling, <br /> compaction, grading, and other activities required to fully restore the site. <br /> 3 <br />
