4/12/01 Went back to site and with the permission of Alfonso Santana, manager, I used a tape measure to measure the depth of the tanks. Each tank measured to a depth of 11'6". Photos were taken. The tanks are not filled with an inert material. (AY) 4/13/01 Issued letter to Margaret Quiroga. Sent certified. Transferred complaint to file. Created anew premise file. (AY) 4/13/01 Started premise file. Transferred complaint#CO0015657 to premise file. See complaint. (AY) 5/21/01 Reviewed file. Margaret Quiroga has not picked up the certified letter. Called 946-1580 and talked to her. She asked me to resend the letter. I told her that she was already one month past the deadline I had given to remove the tanks and that she needed to act immediately to remove the tanks or we would be forced to explore other legal options. (AY) 5/21/01 Sent letter dated 4/13/2001 to Margaret Quiroga for the second time. (Certified) (AY) 6/12/01 Received letter from Margaret Quiroga. Reviewed it with Doug Wilson. Began to write DA case. Drafted letter in response. (AY) 7/30/01 Sent letter to Margaret Quiroga certified with a full copy of the tank law. Prepared case to go to the District Attorney's office. (AY) 8/1/01 Site billed for back fees. (AY) 9/7/01 After reviewing files with Kasey Foley and David Irey, it appears that there may be a waste oil tank behind the building. Returned to site and with the permission of Alfonso Santana, manager, located the waste oil tank and took photos. Tank appears to be full of oily water and no fill cap is present.
