• Environmental Management • P.O.Box 5095
l(\j_J/' San Ramon,CA 94583
November 10, 2004
Margaret Lagorio, IRE CEV E D
Supervising REHS
Environmental Health Department NOV 15 2004
San Joaquin County
304 East Webber Ave. ENVIRONMEi i i 11EALTH
Stockton, CA 95202 PERMIT/SERVICES
Subject: SBC Facility
7644 Ashley Lane
Stockton, CA
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
This is a response to your letter of October 14,2004 requesting information on a"shallow
injection well"noted during a facility inspection on September 16, 2004. The drywell
consists of an 18-inch diameter concrete pipe installed to a depth of 3 feet and filled with
course gravel. Drawings for the dry well installed with the facility in 1974 are attached.
The dry well serves to drain the rain water from the asphalt area behind the building. As
shown on the attached drawings there is a drain in the backup generator room that is
attached to the dry well below grade. This floor drain has recently been sealed to prevent
any fluids from the generator room from entering the dry well.
According to the Property Manager for the site there are no permanent employees that
work at the facility. Several technicians may occupy the facility intermittently when
maintaining telecommunication switch gear. The average number of occupants the site
septic system may serve is estimated to be equivalent of two full time persons per day.
There are two bathrooms in the facility(men's and women's) and a lunchibreak room
with a sink. As you have instructed, because the facility serves less than 20 people,we
have not completed the "Inventory of Injection Wells" form. Attached are copies of
drawings of the septic system.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me at(925) 824-
5784.
Thank you,
/`4w,
Matt Hopwood
Environmental Manager
Attachments
